Time-temperature profiles resulting in quasi-constant oxidation rates

Abstract

An oxidation process for which a thickness of a scale forming on metal's surface at constant temperature is a parabolic function of time is considered. For this case, it is constructively proven that there exists a time-temperature regime for which the same successive holding times cause identical thickness changes.
