Intracardiac shunt detected by cardiac CT angiography

Intracardiac defects in adults are often silent and diagnosed late. They usually present as incidental findings, but may be clinically significant and change patient management. We present two cases of intracardiac shunt, one patent foramen ovale and one perimembranous ventricular septal defect with significant left to right shunt; both incidental findings on a pre-operative cardiac computed tomography angiography.
