Contact lenses were invented to correct refractive error, and they have become a successful and widely used commodity for this purpose. However, looking forward, the potential applications for contact lenses are growing substantially, to the point where vision correction may not always be the main indication. Although there are entertainment-based potential uses for contact lenses, this chapter is focused on the health-related uses that may drastically change how contact lenses are used in the future.
