The Steps of Practicing Evidence-Based Surgery (EBS)

In this chapter, we demonstrate how one can adopt an evidence-based approach to their surgical practice. We describe the five distinct steps in the process of systematically finding, appraising, and using the contemporaneous research findings as the basis for clinical decisions. We use a clinical scenario as an example to apply these steps into surgical practice.
