The Historical Standard in Analyzing Press Performance

Abstract

The problems of constructing a historical standard, against which a periodical's performance in reporting events can be analyzed and evaluated, are discussed in this article by two journalism professors. They report on their own attempt to study the performance of several weekly news periodicals.
