Evidence-Based Trauma Care

Abstract

Evidence-based trauma care requires the provider to combine the best evidence with patient values and provider preferences to make treatment decisions. The practice of evidence-based trauma care requires the formulation of question, acquisition of related literature, appraisal of study quality, and the appropriate application of research findings to individual patients. Evidence-based trauma care may not be able to strictly depend on the results of randomized controlled trials. Practically, evidence-based management should involve the informed and effective use of all types of evidence.
