Interdisciplinary Training for Engineers — A Challenge Between Superficiality and Overspecialization
Abstract
The need for cross disciplinary training for future engineers is discussed. The inadequacy of the classical classification of scientific disciplines and of the standard ways of teaching is stressed. Examples of “problem setting/problem solving” approaches from project learning are proposed. The necessity of not building barriers rather than trying to remove them is emphasised.
