Improving winter leaf area index estimation in coniferous forests and its significance in estimating the land surface albedo
Abstract
Winter leaf area index (LAI) of evergreen coniferous forests exerts strong control on the interception of snow, snowmelt and energy balance. Simulation of winter LAI and associated winter processes in land surface models is challenging.
