Chapter 4 Models and distributional properties of hybrid censoring designs

Abstract

In this chapter, distributional results and joint density function for Type-I hybrid censored data are presented first. The results for the exponential distribution are also described in detail. The corresponding results for the case of Type-II hybrid censoring data are elaborated next. Then, the results for the generalized Type-I, generalized Type-II and unified hybrid censoring schemes are all described. Some connections between different hybrid censoring schemes are pointed out. In particular, it is illustrated that the hybrid censoring schemes can be decomposed in four basic modules enabling an efficient method to study its distributional properties. This decomposition will be very useful in the statistical analysis of hybrid censoring schemes. Finally, joint hybrid censoring schemes are presented.
