Expression of functional -adrenoceptors and polyploidy development in cultured vascular smooth muscle cells from spontaneously hypertensive rats
Abstract
The main objective of this study was to investigate the role of beta-adrenoceptor activation in the development of polyploidy in these cells. Smooth muscle cells (SMCs) were cultured from 3- to 4-, 10- to 12-, and 28- to 30-week-old spontaneously hypertensive rats (SHR) and normotensive Wistar-Kyoto rats (WKY).
