Short Paper: Time of docking of the Connemara terrane with the Delaney Dome Formation, western Ireland
Abstract
The Connemara Dalradian terrane was emplaced over the Delaney Dome Formation from the NNW by near orthogonal movement on the Mannin Thrust, a linkage that has survived later movement. Rb-Sr isotopic analyses of micas and whole rocks from the Delaney Dome mylonites constrain the age of movement on the thrust to 447 ±4Ma.
