Justification of the KP-II approximation in dynamics of two-dimensional FPU systems

Abstract

Dynamics of the Fermi–Pasta–Ulam (FPU) system on a two-dimensional square lattice is considered in the limit of small-amplitude long-scale waves with slow transverse modulations.
