Supersymmetric multicharge solitons in AdS5

Abstract

We construct supersymmetric, asymptotically AdS5 gravitational soliton solutions of five-dimensional gauged supergravity coupled to arbitrarily many vector multiplets. These generalize the supersymmetric solitons of U(1)3 gauged supergravity previously obtained by Chong, Cvetic, Lu, and Pope as limits of local, nonsupersymmetric metrics. We show that the soliton spacetimes contain evanescent ergosurfaces and argue that, as a result, these solitons should be nonlinearly unstable.
