Magnetic structures and excitations of CsMnI3: A one-dimensional Heisenberg antiferromagnet with easy-axis anisotropy

Abstract

We have performed measurements on the easy-axis Heisenberg antiferromagnet CsMnI3 to determine the magnetic structure and excitations. The structural anisotropy of the hexagonal perovskite structure (space group P63/mmc) leads to quasi-one-dimensional behavior such that the ratio of the intra- to interchain exchange J1/J2≊200. Transitions to three-dimensional ordered magnetic states occur at TN1=11.41±0.01 K and TN2=8.21±0.02 K. Superconducting …
