A Quality Improvement Intervention to Reduce Necrotizing Enterocolitis in premature infants with Probiotic Supplementation

Abstract

Necrotizing Enterocolitis (NEC) is a severe intestinal inflammatory disease due to multifactorial causes that present in preterm infants. Compared with similar neonatal intensive care units, our NEC rate was increasing and prompted reduction by a quality improvement (QI) intervention.
