Isomeric State of 97Rh
Abstract
Radioactive 97 Rh was produced via the 96 Ru(p,γ) 97 Rh reaction. The two most intense lines in the γ-ray spectrum of 97 Rh, at 190 and 421 keV, were observed to decay with half-lives of 40 ± 2 and 30 ± 2 min respectively. This result is interpreted as evidence for a 30 min isomeric state in 97 Rh. The interpretation is further supported by the observation of the 19 keV Rh K α X ray.
