Early versus late weight bearing & ankle mobilization in the postoperative management of ankle fractures: A systematic review and meta-analysis of randomized controlled trials
Abstract
BACKGROUND: While open reduction and internal fixation is currently considered the optimum treatment option for displaced ankle fractures, the most optimal post-operative rehabilitation strategy in this setting remains unclear. The objective of this investigation was to compare the effect of early vs. late weight bearing and ankle mobilization in the post-operative management of ankle fractures.
