Abstract
The genus Betacoronavirus, consisting of four main subgenera (Embecovirus, Merbecovirus, Nobecovirus, and Sarbecovirus), encompasses all clinically significant coronaviruses (CoVs), including SARS, MERS, and the SARS-CoV-2 virus responsible for current COVID-19 pandemic.
