Texture Modification During Extrusion of Some Mg Alloys

Abstract

The effects of extrusion ratio and alloying addition on the microstructure of Mg-0.2 wt pct Ce alloys are investigated by electron backscatter diffraction. The results show that in this alloy, texture randomization does not occur at high or low extrusion ratios but at a ratio of 25:1 at 400 °C.
