Ion beam induced luminescence: Relevance to radiation induced bystander effects

Abstract

The aim of this work is quantify the light emitted as a result of charged particle interaction in materials which may be of relevance to radiation induced “bystander effects” studies. We have developed a system which employs single photon counting to measure the light emitted from samples irradiated under vacuum by a charged particle beam.
