ChemInform Abstract: Synthesis, Crystal Structure, and Magnetic Properties of Li3Mg2OsO6, a Geometrically Frustrated Osmium(V) Oxide with an Ordered Rock Salt Structure: Comparison with Isostructural Li3Mg2RuO6.

Abstract

Abstract The new title compound is synthesized by reaction of a stoichiometric mixture of Li 5 OsO 6 , Os, OsO 2 , and MgO (alumina crucible in an evacuated quartz tube, several heatings at 750 °C for 48 h).
