Neuropsychological Assessment
Abstract
Deficits in cognitive function are prevalent among geriatric patients within inpatient medical and psychiatric settings. Identifying the domains of cognitive deficit and their severity can provide diagnostic clarification, guide interventions, and promote effective discharge planning. The value of neuropsychological assessment and its adaptation for the inpatient setting are discussed.
