Photosensitivity in optical fibers and the fabrication of UV written fiber gratings
Abstract
Photosensitivity in optical fiber and the mechanisms proposed to explain the photosensitivity of optical fiber are reviewed. The optical property of fiber gratings is given. Various techniques for fabricating the UV written fiber gratings are described. Finally, the applications of fiber gratings are discussed.
