Job-motive compatibility: a test of Chusmir's model
Abstract
A test of Chusmir's (L. H. Chusmir, Matching Individuals to Jobs, New York: AMACOM, 1985) model of job motive compatibility was conducted using data gathered with the Job Choice Exercise from the incumbents of nine different jobs. The data generally supported Chusmir's predictions about the levels of the need for power, need for achievement and the need for affiliation appropriate in the nine jobs.
