Quantizer monotonicities and globally optimal scalar quantizer design
Abstract
New monotonicity properties of optimal scalar quantizers are discussed. These monotonicities reveal a globally optimal scalar quantizer structure depending on the probability mass functions and on the number of quantizer levels.
