OBJECTIVE: To develop a valid, reliable, and responsive bedside instrument assessing Adaptation to the Intensive Care Environment (ATICE) in mechanically ventilated adult intensive care unit (ICU) patients. DESIGN: Instrument development and prospective clinimetric evaluation.
