Fosphenytoin
Abstract
Fosphenytoin is a phosphate ester prodrug developed as an alternative to intravenous phenytoin for acute treatment of seizures. Advantages include more convenient and rapid intravenous administration, availability for intramuscular injection, and low potential for adverse local reactions at injection sites.
