Screening for lower genital tract pathogens in the ob patient
Abstract
New molecular amplification tests may soon simplify screening for entities like Chlamydia and Neisseria gonorrhoeae, and the CDC's new protocol for GBS screening in pregnancy is now standard. But who and when to test for Trichomonas, Mycoplasma, and BV remain at issue. Here, five experts from the Infectious Diseases Society for Obstetrics and Gynecology review the data and offer their recommendations for clinical practice today.
