Ion occupancy of the channel pore is critical for triggering excitation-transcription (ET) coupling
Abstract
During membrane depolarization the voltage-gated calcium channel (VGCC) activates gene expression in excitable cells by means of a signal-transduction pathway termed excitation transcription (ET) coupling.
