Abstract

Organophosphates are irreversible acetylcholinesterase inhibitors. Intoxication with these compounds is a global health concern. Acute manifestations include muscarinic, nicotinic and central nervous system signs and symptoms. Diagnosis requires a high clinical index of suspicion.
