Dupuytren's disease (DD) is a benign fibroproliferative condition, primarily affecting the palmar fascia that causes functional impairment of the hand. The purpose of this chapter was to identify and appraise the current best evidence related to the etiology, therapy and prognosis of DD. Specifically, we evaluated (1) occupation as a risk factor for DD, (2) treatment options for correcting proximal interphalangeal joint contractures, (3) the effectiveness of percutaneous needle fasciotomy and collagenase injections, (4) post‐operative splinting and (5) disease recurrence.
