Antidepressant selection for major depressive disorder: The budgetary impact on managed care

Abstract

The purpose of this study was to find ways to facilitate formulary decisions by an MCO regarding selection of antidepressants for the treatment of major depressive disorders. To accomplish this, a patient-level pharmacoeconomic assessment from a managed care perspective was conducted in order to compare leading drug therapies for patients with major depression.
