Changing pattern of local government system in Bangladesh: recent restructuring and policy implications
Abstract
Reviews the evolution and changing pattern of local government in Bangladesh at the thana level, discusses the features and defects of the upazila system, and points out problems associated with the village and district level local governments. The motives behind reform and reorganization of local governments in Bangladesh by all new national governments are also analyzed to offer some suggestions for improvement. -from Authors
