Work-related violence and the OHS of home health care workers

This article explores workplace violence and the associations between workplace violence and stress and intrinsic job satisfaction for home health care workers. Date were collected from 99 workers in 16 focus groups, and 674 survey respondents. Visiting nurses, therapists and home support workers reported being victims of crime while on the job, working with difficult clients and family members, being exposed to hazards in clients' homes and neighbourhoods, and experiencing racial and sexual harassment. The implications of these findings are discussed.
