Abstract
Weakly electric fish (Gymnotiformes) emit quasi-sinusoidal electric organ discharges within speciesspecific frequency ranges. The electrosensory system is organized into 2 parallel pathways which convey either the amplitude or the timing of each electric organ discharge cycle.
