Fault block rotations in the Southern Province as defined by paleomagnetism of the Nipissing diabase

Abstract

The more southerly N1 Nipissing diabase poles show conclusive evidence of fault block rotation of individual segments of the Southern Province subsequent to this intrusive event. The more northerly N2 Nipissing diabase poles do not provide such conclusive evidence. It is presently not known whether this uncertainty in the N2 is because the N2 intrusive event postdates the post N1 faulting event, or whether it is a result of inaccuracies in the paleomagnetic data.
