Broadband Multichannel Wavelength Conversions for Optical Communication Systems Using Quasiphase Matched Difference Frequency Generation

Multichannel wavelength conversions using quasiphase matched difference frequency generation (QPM-DFG) in a LiNbO3 waveguide were studied for the first time. It is shown that the crosstalk between signal channels is negligible and the 3-dB bandwidth for multichannel wavelength conversion is as large as 140 nm.
