Beta decay of 87Kr, 88Kr, and 88Rb

Abstract

The decay of 1.3 h 87 Kr, 2.8 h 88 Kr, and 15 min 88 Rb to levels in 87 Rb, 88 Rb, and 88 Sr, respectively, has been investigated using high-resolution Ge(Li) detectors, a plastic beta-ray detector, and gamma–gamma as well as beta–gamma coincidence techniques. Isotope separation was achieved using gas-sweeping methods. Consistent level schemes have been constructed for each isotope under study.
