Irreversible thermodynamics modelling of plastic deformation of metals
Abstract
Irreversible thermodynamics is employed to describe plastic deformation of metallic single crystals and coarse grained polycrystals. Dislocations are assumed to increase the crystal entropy via processes of dislocation generation, glide and annihilation.
