An animal model of allogeneic donor platelet refractoriness: the effect of the time of leukodepletion
Abstract
Approximately 50% of multi-transfused individuals become refractory to random donor platelets. Recent clinical data suggest that those patients receiving leukocyte-depleted blood products are less likely to become refractory to random donor platelets than recipients of non- leukocyte-depleted products.
