Basic FGF localization in rat carotid body: paracrine role in O2-chemoreceptor survival

Abstract

Exposure of perinatal rat carotid body (CB) O2-chemoreceptors to basic fibroblast growth factor (bFGF) or hypoxia in vitro increases mitotic activity.
