Extended thromboprophylaxis: Defining the case, refining the approach
Abstract
Venous thromboembolism (VTE), consisting of deep-vein thrombosis (DVT) and pulmonary embolism (PE), is the third leading cause of cardiovascular death after myocardial infarction and stroke.
