Dr. William K. Chan is a board-certified adult cardiac electrophysiologist and consultant cardiologist at Waterloo Regional Health Network, where he performs over 400 electrophysiology and device procedures annually as part of a multi-physician EP team. He holds an Assistant Clinical Professor (Adjunct) appointment with the Department of Medicine at McMaster University, as well as a cross-disciplinary appointment with the Faculty of Engineering at the University of Waterloo, where he serves as Clinician-in-Residence in the Department of Systems Design Engineering. His clinical practice spans complex atrial and ventricular arrhythmia management, catheter ablation, and the full spectrum of cardiac implantable electronic devices, with particular focus on pulsed field ablation, zero-fluoroscopy workflows with intracardiac echocardiography, conduction system pacing, leadless pacemakers, and left atrial appendage occlusion. He has introduced multiple first-at-site technologies at Waterloo Regional Health Network, including pulsed field ablation, mobile EP lab configurations, the extravascular ICD, and leadless atrial pacing. Nationally, he serves as a proctor and consultant for Biosense Webster, Medtronic, and Boston Scientific, training electrophysiologists across Canada on new device and catheter platforms during early adoption.
