MacData promotes the engagement of researchers and students within McMaster as well as externally with industry, government and community to strengthen McMaster’s position as an international leader on all matters related to data. MacData aims to lead best practices in data security, privacy, and ethical data use while fostering data literacy and skills through training and experiential learning. It also seeks to advance data analytics, improve data management efficiencies, develop large-scale partnerships, run big data seminars and workshops, and support diverse researchers and students in data science and innovation.
