Elisabetta Trinari
Assistant Professor, Pediatrics

Dr. Elisabetta Trinari, a Child & Adolescent Neuropsychiatrist with specialist training in Italy, became an Assistant Professor at McMaster University's Department of Pediatrics in November 2021. She completed her medical training at the University of Perugia and her postgraduate studies at the University of Rome - La Sapienza, where she gained expertise in developmental pediatrics, child psychiatry, and pediatric neurology.

During her time in Italy, she dedicated her clinical work to patients with developmental and psychiatric conditions, serving at the Regional Reference Center for Autism Spectrum Disorders and the Regional Reference Center for Eating Disorders (Umbria).

After relocating to Canada, Dr. Trinari completed the Health Research Methodology Master Program at McMaster University, specializing in clinical epidemiology. Her primary focus is producing high-impact research by conducting systematic reviews and evidence synthesis. Dr. Trinari's clinical and research interests are assessing and treating children with Autism Spectrum Disorders, patients with dual diagnosis (developmental and psychiatric conditions), and neurogenetic syndromes associated with developmental disabilities. She is the local co-PI on the POND genetics sub-project. She consults for the HUB ASD assessment clinic and for the multidisciplinary Tuberous Sclerosis Complex clinic. Dr. Trinari is a member of the Developmental Pediatric Residency Program Committee and Chair of the newly established Research & Scholarship Subcommittee.
