Helene Retrouvey

Dr. Helene Retrouvey is an academic Plastic Surgeon at St. Joseph’s Healthcare and is an Assistant Professor, Department of Surgery, at McMaster University. Dr Retrouvey is a Graduate Student Supervisor and Associate Member of the Faculty of Health Sciences, Department of Health Research Methods, Evidence, and Impact (HEI), McMaster University.

Dr. Retrouvey completed her medical degree at McGill University Medical School and underwent residency training in Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery at the University of Toronto. In addition, Dr. Retrouvey earned a Ph.D. in Clinical Epidemiology, with her thesis centered on enhancing access to breast reconstruction for women facing breast cancer. She then completed a fellowship in Hand and Upper Extremity Surgery in the Department of Orthopedics at the University of Colorado.

Her areas of expertise include hand surgery, skin cancer pathology management, breast reduction surgery, and general plastic surgery.
