Microbiological 16α-Hydroxylation of Dehydroisoandrosterone-3-sulfate

Abstract

High specific activity 16α-hydroxydehydroisoandrosterone-3-sulfate was prepared by the microbiological hydroxylation of (7α-3H)-dehydroisoandrosterone-3-sulfate. The yield of labeled 16α-hydroxydehydroisoandfosterone-3-sulfate was 44% and represents a hovel microbiological conversion of a steroid sulfate. (Endocrinology80:177,1967)
