The MCMI-II: How Much Better Than the MCMI?

Abstract

Millon (1985) stated that the revised version of the Mitlon Clinical Multiaxial Inventory (MCMI) will be superior to the original, in part because the items will be weighted. It is shown that a differential weighting scheme may not appreciably affect the psychometric properties of the instrument, and that any potential increase in validity is likely offset by greater complexity in scoring and an equally possible decrease in validity.
