The deformation of CuW laminates

Abstract

The process of plastic flow in bimetallic laminates of copper and tungsten has been investigated by texture determination, and the mapping of plastic deformation using a grid technique. The results indicate that in the region close to the CuW interface the plastic flow of the matrix is constrained, and the original undeformed texture is retained. The tungsten plates alter the strain path of the copper matrix and influence both the overall texture and the process of flow localization at large strains.
