We compared the relationships between photosynthate allocation to protein, carbohydrate, lipid and low molecular weight (LMW) fractions and the variables daylength and water temperature in Lakes Huron, Michigan, and Ontario as well as three smaller headwater lakes in the Lake Ontario drainage.
